Self-launch

Already have your own kit? You can launch your own equipment at all five of our lakes!

£12 per craft, per day (includes parking).

Book online - it's cheaper!

Please note:

  • Third party insurance is required when launching your own equipment
  • For all self-launch a disclaimer must be completed online prior to arrival
  • Any inflatable crafts must be checked by a member of staff before being launched on the water
  • The launch fee also includes use of the toilet facilities, changing rooms and provision of rescue cover (in designated areas and advertised times). If you want to go outside of rescue cover / areas then this is strictly under the buddy system and must be discussed with staff before doing so.
  • Buoyancy aids must be worn on the water at all times. If you don't own one, then you can rent ours for £6. The only exceptions to this rule are competent adult windsurfers wearing a harness or competent adult wingfoilers – leash to board and wing must be worn (impact vest and helmet recommended).
  • SUP users must wear a personal floatation device such as a buoyancy aid and use a board leash at all times. SUP PFD belts are allowed. Find out more.
  • South West Lakes Trust staff hold the right to ask anyone at anytime to wear a buoyancy aid.

Whenever you leave the lakes, remember to Check, Clean, Dry

Invasive plants and animals can block waterways, prevent access for watersports and harm the environment and wildlife. Protect the environment and the sport you enjoy by cleaning your kit before and after using the water.
